Mrs. Mary C. Kopla, 90 years of age of Valley Road, Walker Twp., Tamaqua, died Tuesday March 12, 2013 at the Blue Mountain Summit in Lehighton.
Widow of Paul Kopla, Jr., who passed away in February of 2006.
Born June 5, 192, she was the daughter of the late William and Ethel (Woodward) Kern.
She was a 1939 graduate of Tamaqua High School, and was a active member of the class reunion committee for many years. In Lewistown Valley, she was a Den Mother to the former Cub Scouts, having attended the joint the U.C.C. & Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School, Bible School while singing in the Choir.
Mary was a former President of the former Walker Twp. P.T.A., served as clerk of the Election Board and as Chaplain of the Lewistown Valley Grange #1639 for over 20 years.
She was a member of St. John Slovak Lutheran Church of Lansford, belonging to the Ladies Aide Society.
Preceded in death by her sister, Jean Keilman; half sister, Carol Ann Reeser; step sister, Florabelle Leitzel;

Mary Christine DePrato wife of Joseph of Tamaqua;

Ashley A, Kopla of Indiana;
Many nieces, and nephews also survive her.
Funeral Services will be held on Sat. March 16, 2013 at 11 o’clock A.M. from the St. John Slovak Lutheran Church 1 East Abbott Street Lansford, Pa. 18232, Rev. Marjorie Keiter to officiate.
Friends shall be received from 9:30 A.M to 10:30 A.M. at the E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral home, Inc., 655 East Broad street Tamaqua, Pa. 18252.
Interment in Grand Army Cemetery, Summit Hill, Pa. 18250.
