Mrs. Mary (Mazurick) Kapish, Nana, as she is lovingly known, age 97, of Heritage Hill Senior Community, Weatherly, Pa., died Thursday, February 17, 2011.
A member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church of Hazleton, Mary had worked in the Textile Industry.
Mary loved to entertain, cooking and baking for family and friends.
She was known for her cheerful outlook on life and her sense of humor.
She was the daughter of the late Steven and Helen (Yascovich) Mazurick.
Survived by her grandchildren, Lisa Marie Halecky and her husband Joseph, Denise M. Langman and her husband William, and John T. Kapish;
Great grandchildren, Cory, Richard, Kyle, and Amber;
Preceded in death by her husband, Andrew J. Kapish; son, Calvin John Kapish; brother, Andrew Zook; sister, Mrs. Helen Lesh.
Arrangements are being handled by Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home, 211 First Street, Weatherly, Pa., Philip J. Jeffries F.D./ Sup.,where the family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM Monday, February 21, 2011.
Divine Liturgy with Office of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church 227 East Beech Street Hazleton, Pa. 18201 at 11 o'clock A.M. Monday, February 21, 2011, Rev. Peter M. Donish officiating.
Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery of Drums.
Memorials in her name to Heritage Hill Sr. Community 800 Sixth St. Weatherly, Pa. 18255, or masses in her name to the church. .
