Mary R. Dougherty, 85 years of age of Tuscarora, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully at Saint Luke's - Miners Memorial Medical Center on Thursday, January 19, 2023
Born Thursday, September 30, 1937 in Tuscarora, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Gerald and Bernadette (Wirtz) Dougherty.
Mary was a graduate of Marian Catholic High School with the Class of 1955 and was employed as a bookkeeper in the textile industry prior to her retirement. She was a member of Saint Bertha's Roman Catholic Church and later Saint John XXIII Roman Catholic Church. Mary enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles.
Surviving are sisters, Helen M. Dougherty of Tuscarora, Kathryn Nester; and niece, Kira Stahler of Lehighton.
Private services have been entrusted to E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 655 East Broad Street, Tamaqua, Pennsylvania 18252, 570-668-2550.
Interment will be in Saint Bertha's Roman Catholic Church Cemetery, Walker Township.
