Martin J. "Marty" Makowiec, Jr., 71 years of age, of West Main Street Weatherly, Pennsylvania died unexpectedly on Monday, March 10, 2025, at home.Born Tuesday, February 16, 1954 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania he was predeceased by; father, Martin J. Makowiec Sr.; son, Martin "Chip" J. Makowiec III

Surviving are; his mother, Irene (Shema) Makowiec; wife of 50 years, Betty L. (VanHorne) Makowiec; daughter, Valerie Johnson wife of Craig; son, Joshua Makowiec; brothers, John Makowiec and his wife Lynn, Jude Makowiec, Gerard Makowiec, Christopher Makowiec, Frank Makowiec and Thomas Makowiec; sister, Maria Makowiec; grandchildren, Michael, Mason, Landon. Many nieces and nephews also survive Martin.

A graduate of West Hazleton High School, Marty owned his own welding business in Beaver Brook "Marty's Welding" for many years. When not welding Marty enjoyed tinkering on cars.

A Funeral service will be at 11 o'clock A.M. on Friday March 14, 2025 from the funeral home. Friends may call from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services.

Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Weatherly Pennsylvania.
