Mark G. Beltz

Mark G. Beltz, 59 of Shady Lane Walker Twp., Tamaqua died suddenly Monday January 23, 2012 upon arrival in Schuylkill Medical Ctr. South, Pottsville.

Born in Ashland, he was the son of the late Russell and Naomi (Hartung) Beltz.

A 1970 Mahanoy City High School graduate, Mark attended Combs College of Music of Philadelphia, and earned an associated degree in accounting from DeSales University in Center Valley.

Mark was a managerial accountant having worked for many regional companies, and recently operated M. G. Consulting of Tamaqua, Pa.

Mark was an accomplished musician, playing trumpet, and having taught piano. He was a member of the well-known regional rock band of the 60’s and 70’s, Angie and The Strangers.

A member of the Tamaqua Lion, and Elks, Mark was a Life Member of the Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Beta Chapter.

He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Marie G. (Dougherty) Beltz;
Daughters, Anissa M. wife of Joseph Nunemacher of Coaldale, Kathleen E. at home; son, Mark E. Beltz and his wife Nicole of Tamaqua; grandson Nicholas who affectionetly referred to him as Pap; brother, Russell Beltz and his wife Leslie of Jonestown, Pa.;

Preceded in death by his grandson, Gregory Beltz.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from SS. Peter & Paul R.C.C., 307 Pine St. Tamaqua, Pa., Saturday, January 28, 2012 at 10 o’clock Am, Rev. William Linkchorst to officiate.

Friends may call Friday evening from 6 to 8:00 PM at the E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc. 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa. 18252.

Private committal at Sky-View Memorial Park, Tamaqua.

No Sat. morning calling hours.
