Marie B. Sassaman, 88 formerly of Tamaqua, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Monday, May 7, 2018, at Hometown Nursing & Rehabilitation Ctr. in Tamaqua.
Born Monday, June 17, 1929 in Coaldale, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late John, and Mary (Witcofsky) Butcavage. She was also predeceased by her husband, Karl Sassaman in 2001; sisters, Evelyn Protiwick, Alice Truskey, and Roseann Harmidi.
Marie, is survived by; son, Karl R. Sassaman and his wife Mary Beth of S. Hampton, NJ.; grand child Marisa Bozarth and her husband Tim; great grand children, Sarah, Abi, Josh, and Alex
A 1947 graduate of Tamaqua High School, Marie had worked for a short time for the former Atlas Powder Co. before settling to the role of homemaker. She was an active member of S.S. Peter & Paul R.C.C. of Tamaqua as a member of the choir and Ladies Aux.

A Memorial Services will be held on Friday May 11, 2018 at 1 o 'clock P.M. from St. John XXIII R.C.C. 266 West Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa. 18252
Interment will be in Sky View Memorial Park Tamaqua, Pennsylvania.
