Marie E. Konstas, mother, grandmother, sister, 87 years of age, of Tamaqua, Pennsylvania passed away on Monday, April 15, 2024, at Geisinger St. Luke's hospital Orwigsburg.
Born Friday, May 8, 1936 in Frackville, the daughter of the late Michael, and Elizabeth (Vargo) Thomas. Marie was also predeceased by; her beloved husband of 64 years, Gus P. "Deano" Konstas, sister, Arlene L. McGeehan.
Surviving are daughters, Diane M. Konstas of Mt. Alto, Cheryl A. Kabana and her husband Ronald of Tamaqua; sister, June Warner of Tamaqua ; grandchildren whom she adored, Nicolai, and Anthony.
A graduate of the former St. Jerome High School, Marie was an active member of Trinity U.C.C. of Tamaqua assisting the catering society for many years. Retiring from Laneco having worked in the Bakery, Marie previously worked in the textile Industry, and assisted Deano in the operation of the Texas Lunch, a 3 generation Tamaqua Landmark.
Marie, and Deano enjoyed listening to Polka's, and dancing at the former Lake Side Ballroom. Marie looked forward to playing bingo, and trips to the casino with Sister June, and Deano. Decorating her home for holiday gatherings, making cookies with the assistance of her grandsons, and her infamous "Half Coconut Easter Cake" for Deano liked coconut and the rest of the family did not. Funeral Service will be held on Monday April 22, 2024 at 11 o'clock A.M. from Trinity U.C.C, 22 Lafayette Street Tamaqua Pennsylvania. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 A.M. until the time of services.
Interment will be in Sky-View Memorial Park, Tamaqua, Pennsylvania.
