Margaret K. "Marge" Romano

April 29, 1944 — January 4, 2023

Margaret K. "Marge" Romano, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister of Arlington Street, Tamaqua, Pennsylvania passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at home while in the loving care of her girls. Marge was 78 years of age.

Born Saturday, April 29, 1944 in Coaldale, the daughter of the late Joseph C. and Margaret D. "Peg" Kubilus. Marge was also predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Joseph A. Romano on August 18, 2022.

Surviving are daughters, Teresa Kester and her fiancé Greg Simon, Michelle Barron and her husband, Duane, Marie Sottosanti; brother, Joseph Peter Kubilus; sister, Mary Ann Spirko wife of Stephen; grandchildren, Kyle Kester and his wife Amanda, Dr. Jerome Barron and his wife Amber, Erika Davis wife of Matthew, Nico Sottosanti and his fiancée Lex, Dominique Sottosanti; great grandchildren, Gina Kester, Kendall, and Calvin Davis, Aiden, and Dominic Barron; good friend Marie Nardini; nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive Marge. They also had many good neighbors.

A 1962 graduate of Marian Catholic high School, Marge had worked in the Textile Industry, for the former McCrory's Department Store, and as a teller at Santander Bank in Tamaqua. Marge was a member of St. John XXIII R.C.C. Tamaqua, and a former member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society of the church.

Marge loved her family, and the holidays spent with family. Everyone looked forward to New Year's day where all enjoyed her homemade Raviolis and Brasciole. A devoted grandmother who was called "Nana Romano" she was her grandchildren's biggest supporter, following their athletic endeavors, as well as school activities.

Marge and Joe enjoyed walks around Tuscarora State Park and occasional trips to the casinos. She also enjoyed visiting rummage sales and the farmers market. Marge will be greatly missed by all.
