Margaret Luckey

February 3, 1921 — March 22, 2015

Margaret Luckey passed away peacefully Sunday evening at Fritzingertown Senior Living Community where she had been a resident for the past several years.

Born in Hazleton, she was the last surviving sibling of Henry and Jane Chegwidden. In addition to spending many years in Hazleton, she had also lived in Harrison, NY and Weatherly, where she considered home.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husbands Thomas Correll and Roland Luckey and 5 brothers and sisters.

Margaret’s early experiences included working at the old Duplin silk mill. More recently she stayed active with Cranberry Quilters, traveling with Senior Citizens, Busy Bees at Zion Lutheran Church, and the jigsaw puzzle group at the “Fritz”.

Known to most as “Aunt Margaret”, she was always there to help you out before thinking of herself. She was loved and will be missed.

Surviving is her son, Larey Correll (wife Cecilia) of Louisville, KY, 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews in the area.

Visitation will be held at Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home & Cremation Services 211 First St., Weatherly, PA on Friday, March 27, 2015 between 9:30 and 11:00 AM with the service at 11:00 AM.
