Life is precious. Mothers are a gift. Grandmothers are a blessing. Great-grandmothers are a gift from God. Margaret “Nana” May Kistler, a woman who lived a life full of love, family and faith, passed away January 25, 2021 at the age of 85. Margaret was born in Weatherly, Pennsylvania and was the daughter of the late Robert and Eva Craiglow DeFrain. She was the sister of the late Gladys Hinkle, Beatrice James, and Ruth DeFrain. In her life, Margaret was the valedictorian of her graduating class from Weatherly High School. After meeting her late husband, Rev. Robert Kistler, Margaret lived the life of a pastor’s wife throughout the state before ultimately settling in Hazleton. She worked as a nurse's aide at Lutheran Welfare Services and was a devoted member of the Christ Lutheran Church of Hazleton, Pa. Margaret was a great wife and mother who enjoyed cooking, baking, and caring for her family. Prior to her passing, Margaret resided at the Mountain City Health and Rehabilitation Center in Hazleton Pennsylvania. Surviving is her son John C. Kistler and his wife Anne Marie of Hazleton; Daughter Mary Kistler of Hazleton; Grandchildren Jeremy Kistler and his fiancée Bryanna Ator; Megan Rose Dever and her husband Ryan, Great Grandchild Lacey Anne Dever, Brother in law Rev. Richard Hinkle and niece Margaret Elvin. Obituary written by her loving grandson Jeremy, who hopes that he made you proud and will miss you very much. “Rest in Peace Nana, until we meet again”.

A Celebration of Margaret's Life will be held on Friday January 29, 2021 at 11 o'clock A.M. from Christ Lutheran Church of 210 West Green Street Hazleton, Pennsylvania 18201, with Rev. Wayne Lupole to officiate. Friends may call from 10:00 A.M. until time of services. Please adhere to current Covid masking requirements.
Private interment at St. Matthews Union Cemetery, Quakake Road Weatherly, Pennsylvania.
