Manuel J. Filloy, Sr.

Manuel J. "Manny" Filloy, Sr., devoted husband, father, and grandfather age 73, of Second Street Coaldale, died suddenly Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at St. Luke's Miners Memorial in Coaldale.
Survived by his wife of forty-nine years, Ethel Lee (Nelson) Filloy.
A 1957, Lansford High School graduate, Manny served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War earning the rank of Sgt.
Honest and hardworking, Manny was Terminal Magr. for W.H. Johns Trucking of South Tamaqua until pursuing his dream in 1982 of owning his own business, forming Filloy Baking Company of Coaldale with his wife Lee, which he ran until 2004.
A member of the Lansford Legion Post# 123, he was a longtime member of the Tamaqua Jaycee's, having served as State Secretary and International Senator. Manny was active in the formation of the T.I.D.E. Industrial Park in Tamaqua, and was a life member of the American Fire Company #1 Lansford.
Born in Summit Hill, he was the son of the late Manuel and Delina (Ferette) Filloy.
He is also survived by his;

Megan (Filloy) Cannon wife of Craig of Weatherly;
Two Sons,
Manuel J. Filloy, Jr. and his wife Carolyn of Nesquehoning,
Rob Filloy and his wife Lisa of Tamaqua;
Brother,
Joseph Filloy of Pittsburgh;
Three grandchildren, Derek, Zachary, and Nathan;
Nephews, and nieces.
Preceded in death by sisters, Mrs. Angelina Baer, and Mrs. Delina Butz.
Arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa., where the family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM Monday, June 10, 2013.
Memorial Service will be at E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc. at 11 o'clock A.M., Monday, June 10, 2013.
Interment with Military Honors, will be at Sky View Memorial Park in Tamaqua.
