Mahlon F. Kachelries

Mahlon F. Kachelries, age 67, of Owl Creek Road Tamaqua, died Tuesday, July 12, 2011, at Manor Care in Pottsville.
Mahlon attended Blythe Twp. Schools, and went to Pottsvile Area High School.
A United States Marine, he served during the Cuban Missile Crisis, and during the Vietnam War.
A member of Trinity U.C.C. of Tamaqua, Mahlon was in charge of catering for many years.
Active in the Marine Corp League and Toys for Tot's, Mahlon also belonged to the Tamaqua Legion, and served three terms as Exalted Ruler for the Tamaqua Elks.
A Tamaqua Borough Council member from 2004 to 2008, he was a past president of the Tamaqua Ambulance Assoc., and served on the Owl Creek Reservoir Assoc.
Mahlon was a self employeed contractor in Tamaqua.
Born in Tamaqua, he was the son of the late Mahlon and Esther (Kunkel) Kachelries.
He is survived by his wife of thirty-six years, Susan B. (Henne) Kachelries;

Cheryl (Kachelries) Nemeth wife of Paul of Tamaqua,
Crystal Kachelries of Connecticut;
Four Sisters,
Carol (Kachelries) Lasco wife of Philip of Pottsville,
Beverly (Kachelries) Freeman wife of Joseph of Schuylkill Haven,
Janice (Kachelries) Strohl wife of Bert of Cementon,
Esther (Kachelries) Rockwell of Girardville;
Four Brothers,
James Kachelries and his wife Hazle of Tamaqua,
Donald Kachelries of Schuylkill Haven,
Lorain Kachelries of Schuylkill Haven,
Brian Kachelries and his wife Linda of Pottsville;
Two grandchildren, Josh, and Jack
Arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa.,
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday, July 16, 2011, at Trinity U.C.C. 22 Lafayette Street Tamaqua, Pa. 18252.
Funeral service will be at Trinity U.C.C. at 1:00 PM Saturday, July 16, 2011, Rev. David Grant to officiate.
Interment with Military Honors will be at Sky View Memorial Park in Tamaqua.
