Lucille (Foster) Sency, 91 years of age, formerly of Packer Township, Weatherly, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2015, at Lehigh Valley Hospital Hazleton Campus.
She was the widow of Stephen A. Sency.
A member of Our Lady of Lourdes R.C.C. of Weatherly, Lucille enjoyed cooking, baking, quilting, gardening, and reading. She was an excellent seamstress and made much of her family's clothing throughout the years.
Lucille had taught girls how to sew as a 4-H leader in Weatherly for many years. She also held many jobs but mostly enjoyed her work as a foster grandparent at the White Haven Center and at Heights Terrace School in Hazleton.
Some of Lucille's happiest times were spent cooking and baking for family and friends. Her proudest accomplishments were as a housewife and mother.
Born Sunday, June 15, 1924 in Newberry, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Otto and Cora Lee (Spoon) Foster.
Surviving are sons Stephen Sency and his wife Linda of Durango, CO; Kenneth Sency, Weatherly; Rodney Sency, Kyburz, CA; and Jeffrey Sency and his companion Terri, Weatherly; daughter Sylvia Kennard and her husband Joseph, Seagoville, TX; brother Russell Foster, Aiken, SC; sister Dorothy Brewton, Florida; grandchildren Stephen Sency, Florida, and Jennifer Davidick and her husband Joseph, Schenectady, NY; and great grandchildren Kateri, Tatiana, Stephen, and Leif.
She was preceded in death by a sister Kathryn George; brothers John, Klettner, Frank, Stanley and Joseph Foster; and daughter-in-law Eileen F. (Hoffman) Sency.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 o'clock A.M. on Friday July 10, 2015 at Our Lady of Lourdes R.C.C. located at 318 Plane Street, Weatherly, Pennsylvania 18255.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM on Friday, July 10, 2015 in church.
Private interment will be held at St. Nicholas R.C.C. Cemetery, Weatherly, Pennsylvania.
