Miss Louise A. Shimsky, age 80, formerly of Summit Hill, died Tuesday, December 8, 2009 at Hometown Nursing Home in Tamaqua.
A 1947 graduate of the former Coaldale High School, Louise was a graduate of the Hazleton School of Nursing, and member of their alumni associaton, as well as the Pennsylvania Nurses Association.
Louise, was a flight attendant for Pan America airlines, having lived in the Middle East, retiring after 20 years. She then worked as a nurse at Coaldale State Hospital, retiring in 1976.
Born in Coaldale, she was the daughter of the late Stanley J. and Josephine B. (Surma) Shimsky.
She is survived by her sister, Mrs. Mildred Bechtel wife of Frank E. of Levittown, Pa.
Two Nieces, Mrs. Marlene Skoloda of Hamburg, and Mrs. Patricia Ortiz of Guynabo Puerto Rico.
Funeral Services Friday December 11, 2009 at 11 o'clock A.M. from the E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc. 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa. Reverend Stephen Halabura officiating.

Interment at Sky-View memorial Park of Tamaqua
