Louis F. Tubens, 71 of Second Street Coaldale, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Friday, August 24, 2018, at home while in the care of his wife of fifty-four years Maria E. (Maneiro) Tubens. A love story has been told. Maria and Louis were both raised in a New York City ophanage. Louis being older aged out and resided in New York City. Upon Maria's 17th birthday she to had to leave. Ferried to a half way house she was scared and knew it was not safe; however, she remembered Louis and found him. His family welcomed her and gave her safe shelter. From there the love story began. Fifty-four years, five children, college educated, living the life of a middle class family in Staten Island. "The American Dream". Catholic by faith, Louis graduated from Mount Loretta Orphanage in New York City. He was a messenger on Wall Street while earning his Associates Degree in Counseling at Staten Island College. After earning his counseling certification Louis devoted his life to helping the downtrodden. He retired from the New York City Board of Education and worked for various group home in the city. Of course Louis and his family are Yankee Fans. Born Monday, February 3, 1947 in New York, , New York, In addition to his wife he is survived by; his five children and extended family.
