Lillian E. Ritter, 92, of Anaheim, California, formerly of Weatherly, passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2014. She was the widow of Warren Ritter, also of Weatherly.
Born in Weatherly on April 11, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Walter C. and Emma (Pascoe) Englehart. Mrs. Ritter was a graduate of Weatherly High School Class of 1940.
Lillian was married to Warren Ritter for 57 years before his death in August 1998. Upon Warren’s retirement from the U.S. Army, they owned and operated a restaurant, Ritter’s Village Kitchen, in Sharon, Vermont. After ten years in the restaurant business, they retired to Tempe, Arizona. She enjoyed travelling in their RV, swimming, playing cards, cooking, sewing, and crocheting. After her husband’s death she moved to Sun City, California, where she lived for 13 years. She moved to Anaheim Hills in September 2011.
Mrs. Ritter was a member of the Eastern Star in Sharon, Vermont.
Besides her beloved husband, she is preceded in death by their daughter, Joyce Ritter, in 1959, as well a brother and sister-in-law, Lester and Letha Englehart of Virginia Beach; a brother, Henry Englehart of Weatherly; a sister and brother-in-law, Bill and Emma Halechko, of Weatherly; and sister, Bernice Bolish of New Jersey.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Robert W. and Diana Ritter of Big Fork Montana; her daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Joe Dooley of Southbury, Connecticut; her daughter Cynthia M. Ritter of Anaheim Hills, California; a sister, Thelma Elflein of Phoenix, Arizona; and seven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, with the twelfth on the way , nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday June 28, 2014 at 11 o’clock A.M. from the Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home & Cremation Services 211 First Street Weatherly, Pa. 18255, Rev. Dawn Richie to officiate.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 9:30 A.M. until time of services.
Interment Union Cemetery, Weatherly, Pennsylvania
