Leora K. Dumond

Leora K (Kean) DuMond, age 75, of Honesdale Pennsylvania, died Wednesday, September 23, 2015, at Weatherwood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Weatherly Pennsylvania.
Born in Pine Mill on April 12, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred J. Kean and the late Grace (Schuman) Kean, who preceded her in death by only three days on September 20, 2015.
Leora was a 1958 graduate of Hancock Central High School in Hancock NY. She grew up attending the Equinunk United Methodist Church, where she married Chauncey A. DuMond Jr. of Starlight Pennsylvania in 1963 becoming a traveling military wife, moving six times within 11 years. Both her sons were born while her new husband was serving our country in Vietnam and Korea.
Survived by her sons;
Paul DuMond of Cascade, CO,
John DuMond and wife Kristin of Monument, CO;
Sisters,
Leona White (Jack Long) of Ringwood, NJ;
Lois Young (Waldron) of Pine Mill, PA;
Two Grandchildren,
Megan and Juliet DuMond
Preceded in death by her brother, James W Kean.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 211 First Street , Weatherly, PA.
Services will be co-celebrated with her mother's at the Equinunk United Methodist Church on Saturday, September 26, 2015 with visitation from 12:00 – 2:00pm and a Memorial Service at 2:00pm.
Interment to follow at the Pine Mill Cemetery. Everyone is invited to join the family for a luncheon at the Pine Mill Community Hall.
The family requests donations in Leora’s memory be made to the Equinunk United Methodist Church c/o Helen Schuman 38A Lordville Road, Equinunk, PA 18417.
