Mrs. Leona E. (Oswald) Miller, age 88, of Summer Valley Road, New Ringgold, passed away Friday, September 9, 2011, at Blue Mountain Health Systems, Lehighton.

A 1940 Tamaqua High School graduate, Leona worked for the former Atlas Powder Company in Reynolds and then in the garment industry until retiring.

Leona was a life long member of Zion Stone Church in Snyders where she taught Sunday school, sang in the choir and served as Sunday school pianist for 63 years.

Leona was a former Clerk of Elections for West Penn Twp. and was a member of the Senior Citizens of Zion's Church.

Born in West Penn Twp., she was the daughter of the late Clayton and Emma (Zettlemoyer) Oswald.

She is survived by:

Two Daughters;
Ginny (Miller) Magnotta wife of John of Mt. Holly Springs, Pa. and
Irene Miller and her companion Dan Dupert of Mechanicsburg, Pa.

Three Sons;
Blair Miller of New Ringgold,
Roger Miller and his wife Sherri of Boiling Springs, Pa. and
Leonard Miller and his wife Lori of Richland, Pa.

Three Grandchildren Christopher, Holly and Matthew.
Five Great-Grandchildren Nathaniel, Rachel, Aaron, Patrick and Chloe.

Preceded in death by her husband, Warren M. Miller in 1975; infant son, Glenn Miller; sister Marie T. Henry.


Arrangements are being handled by Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, Inc., 2066 West Penn Pike, Rte. #090 Snyders Village, New Ringgold, Pa., where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Monday, September 12, 2011 and at Zion's Stone Church in Snyders on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM.

Funeral service will be at Zion's Stone Church in Snyders at 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 13, 2011. Rev. Michael A. Frost officiating.

Interment will be at Zion's Stone Church Cemetery in Snyders.
