Mrs. Lela Catherine (Kistler) Hoppes, age 95, of Mill Dr., Tamaqua, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, June 14, 2011, at The Summit at Blue Mountain Nursing Home in Lehighton.
She was a member of Christ Evangelical Free Church of Mahoning Valley.
Lela had previously worked in the textile industry and she enjoyed quilting.
Born in W. Penn Twsp., she was the daughter of the late Albert Kistler and the late Kattie (Wert) Minnich-Kistler.
She is survived by her
two sons,
Kevin Hoppes and his wife Cheryl of Tamaqua; and
Ronald Hoppes and his wife Betty of Royersford, Pa.
four grandchildren, Brian, Matthew, Michelle and Kyle
four great-grandchildren, Kristian, Carice, Lucean and Maddison.
Preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Hoppes, in 1992; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Marilyn Hoppes; brother, Delbert Kistler; sisters, Alma Miller, Gertrude Miller and Bessie Fritz; step-mother, Annie Miller-Kistler.
Arrangements are being handled by Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, Inc., 2066 West Penn Pike, New Ringgold, Pa., where the family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 from 9:30-11:00 AM.
Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, Pastor Greg Laible officiating.
Interment at Christ Evangelical Free Church Cemetery, Mahoning Valley.
