Lee A Gavitt , 78 years of age of Plane Street Weatherly, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at home while in the care of his wife and daughter.
Survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Donna "Tina" (Jones) Gavitt.
Lee was a West Hazleton High School graduate, attended Penn State. Lee, served honorably in the United States Navy. He retired from Fuller Company of Bethlehem.
A member of SS. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church of Beaver Meadows, he was a member of the St. Nicholas Council Knights of Columbus of Weatherly. Lee enjoyed hunting, fly fishing, and was a talented wood worker.
Lee was one of the original conservators of the Lehigh River and its many tributaries.
Born Tuesday, January 28, 1936 in West Hazleton, the son of the late Albert, and Veronica (Gresh) Gavitt.
In addition to his wife he is survived by;
Daughter,
Lorri Gavitt of Weatherly;
Grand daughter,
Jennifer McCarty and her husband Bryan and his great grandson Greiyson;
Preceded in death by his daughter,
Sharon (Gavitt) Morrissette in 1983; grandson, Eric Poshefko in 1978.

Office of Christian Burial with Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. from SS. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church 119 Berwick Street Beaver Meadows, Pennsylvania 18216, on Saturday November 29, 2014, Father James Demko to officiate.
Friends shall be received in church from 9:30 A.M. until 10:15 A.M.
Military Honors will be bestowed at the end of the of the Liturgy.
Private interment St. Nicholas R.C.C. Cemetery, Weatherly, Pennsylvania.
