LaRue M. Strouse, mother, grandmother, and sister,72 years of age of West Brunswick Township, Orwigsburg, Pennsylvania passed away on Friday, April 29, 2016, at Schuylkill Medical Center East in Pottsville, Pennsylvania.
Widow of Kenneth Charles Strouse who passed away in 1996.
LaRue is survived by; sons, Eric C. Strouse of Coon Rapids, MN and Keith A. Strouse of Orwigsburg; sister, Mrs. Eleanor Benner of Allentown; brother, Carl Ruch and his wife Charlene of New Ringgold; grand children, Carter B., Brandon C., and Emma May Strouse. Many nieces, nephews and in-laws also survive her.
A homemaker, LaRue was a member of Zion's Stone Church of West Penn Township. She was a talented artist who enjoyed oil painting, ceramics and was a member of the Schuylkill County Quilters Club. LaRue also was affiliated with the Zion's Red Church of Orwigsburg.
Born Tuesday, May 25, 1943 in New Ringgold, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Elmer, and Florence (Koenig) Ruch. LaRue was also predeceased by a brother, Donald E. Ruch on May 22, 2001.
Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the Robert S. Nester Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. of 2066 West Penn Pike New Ringgold, Pennsylvania 17960. (570) 386-5884.
A funeral service will be held at 10 o'clock AM on Wednesday May 4, 2016 from the funeral home with the Rev. Kenneth T. Melber, Jr. to officiate.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday evening, May 3, 2016.
Interment will be in Zion's Red Church Cemetery, Orwigsburg, Pennsylvania.
