Kenneth R. Eli, age 93, of East Main Street Weatherly, died Friday, February 7, 2014, at St. Luke's Miners Memorial Geriatric Center in Coaldale.
Survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Irene M. (Smith) Eli.
A 1939 Hazleton High School graduate, Kenneth served in the United States Army during WWII in the European Theater.
A lineman, and pole inspector for PP&L for 47 years, Kenneth retired in 1986. He was a member of Salem U.C.C. of Weatherly, PP&L retiree's, and the Weatherly Friendship Club.
Born in Allentown, Kenneth was raised in Audenried,the son of the late Allen and Alice (Watkins) Eli.
He is also survived by his;
Daughter,
Janet L. (Eli) Reedy and her husband Ralph of Bloomsburg;
Sons,
David A. Eli of Columbia, MD.,
James M. Eli and his wife Donna of Blaine, Wash.;
Two grandchildren, Tate and Mitchell.
Preceded in death by an infant son, Kevin Eli; grandson, Evan Reedy.
Arrangements are being handled by Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 211 First Street Weatherly, Pa., where the family will receive friends from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 12, 2014.
Memorial Service will be at Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home at 11 o'clock AM Wednesday, February 12, 2014, Rev. Donald Stump to officiate.
Interment will be at Union Cemetery of Weatherly.
