Kathryn Coxe

Kathryn Coxe, 98 years of age of Mahanoy Street Tamaqua, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, as a guest of Greenwwod Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Tamaqua.

Born Wednesday, December 8, 1926 in Tamaqua, Pennsylvania. the daughter of the late J. Herbert and Elizabeth (Chester) Derr. Kathryn was also predeceased by; husband, William C. Coxe Sr.; brother, J. Chester Derr.

Surviving are son, William C. Coxe Jr. and his wife LeAnn; daughter, Susan E. Hoover wife of Mark; grandchildren, Ryan Coxe, Christopher Henne; great grandchildren, Brooklyn, and Will.

A 1944 graduate of Tamaqua High School, Kathryn attended Kutztown College, and worked as a telephone operator in Tamaqua. A member of Trinity U.C.C. of Tamaqua, Kathryn belonged to the Eastern Star Gnaden Huetten Chapter #203 of Lehighton. A talented artist, crafter. While living in Germany during her husband Williams Military career, Kathryn became accomplished in ceramics, duplicating Hummel Figurines so precisely that many could not distinguish between Kathryn's and the real figurine.
