Kathleen “Kitty” Camilla Stauffer was a caring wife, loving mother and grandmother (“Honey”), loyal sister, and an open-hearted friend. She passed away peacefully September 15, 2024, after a long battle with ovarian cancer. She was surrounded by family and close friends in her home in Dillsburg, PA. She was born February 15, 1961, in Sunbury, PA, to Thomas P. and Barbara (Pollock) Rogan. She married her best friend and love of her life, Col (Ret) Robin James Stauffer, in 1984 and together they had 2 children, Ryan and Elise.
She was a devoted Army wife; strong, supportive, and resilient when facing the trials of moving and creating a new home every few years. She served as the President of the US Army Officers’ Wives’ Club, Schofield Barracks, HI and served on the staff of the WWII Memorial Campaign.
Her passions in life were cooking, gardening, reading, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren. She graduated from Tamaqua Area High School and continued her education at Penn State University, where she would become an avid and lifelong Penn State fan. Her passion for cooking and her love of people guided her and her husband to owning and operating Pheasant Field Bed and Breakfast, Carlisle, PA for ten years. Kitty’s love of life, laughter, and her beautiful smile touched the hearts of all who knew her. She has left her fingerprints imprinted on the hearts of countless lives.
Kitty is survived by her husband, Col (Ret) Robin J Stauffer; her brothers, Thomas and Sean Rogan (Mary Lou); her children Ryan Stauffer (Tiffany) and Elise Smith (Wes); and her grandchildren, Garrett (12) and Emmaleigh (8) Smith.
