Mr. Junior R. Moyer, age 89, of Pine Valley Road, East Brunswick Twp., New Ringgold, Pa., went to be with his savior, Friday, January 30, 2009, at home, surrounded by his family.
Protestant by faith, he loved to read his Bible. Junior retired from the former Atlas Powder Company of Reynolds after 28 years. He and his wife of owned and operated their family farm since 1947 in East Brunswick Township.
Junior served in the United States Army during WWII. He participated in the Invasion of Sicily and Invasion of Italy, receiving the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Ribbon, and Good Conduct medal.
Born in West Penn Twp,, he was the son of the late Daniel and Elmira Rose (Turner) Moyer.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary (Breiner) Moyer;
One Daughter,
Mrs. Sandy K. (Moyer) Romberger wife of Al of New Ringgold, Pa.
One Sister,
Mrs. Mammie (Moyer) Gangloff of Lehighton, Pa.;
Two grandchildren, Scott A. Romberger and his wife Lynn, and Jill J. wife of Darren Davis;
Three great-grandchildren, Ashley and Alan Romberger, and Natalie Davis;
Preceded in death by his daughter, Linda J. Moyer in 1976; brothers, James and Charles Moyer; sisters, Mrs. Verna Breiner, Mrs. Elva Haas, and an infant sister Miss Ethel Moyer.
Arrangements are being handled by Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, Inc., 2066 West Penn Pike, Rte.#309, New Ringgold, Pa., where the family will receive friends from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 3, 2009.
Funeral service will be at Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 3, 2009, Rev. Eugene Eckroth officiating.
Interment will be at Steigerwalts Cemtery of McKeansburg, Pa.
