Mr. Julius F. Keich, age 107, of 51 Dairy Road, West Penn Twp., Tamaqua, Pa., died Wednesday, December 24, 2008, at Hometown Nursing & Rehabilitation Ctr., in Tamaqua, Pa.
Julius was a member of Trinity U.C.C. of Tamaqua, Pa.
At the beginining of his working years, Julius was a Window Decorator for the former Philadlphia Department Store in Tamaqua. During the Depression years, he worked as a Plumber and Mason with his brother's. As the country emerged from the depths of the 1930's Julius began to work at the #14 mines as a mason building holding dams. When the mines closed, he ventured to Doylestown, Pa to build in ground pools.
In 1966 retired, Julius began a quest with his son, Russell F. Keich and his deceased partner Don Herring to estabilsh Stone Hedge Gardens in South Tamaqua, PA., rebuilding the art studio's, gardens and many ponds on the property.
Born in Tamaqua, Pa., he was the son of the late George and Elizabeth (Hartman) Keich.

Preceded in death by his wife, in 2002 Margaret (Gangaware) Keich; brothers, George and Ed; sister Mrs. Catherine (Keich) Beisel.
