Julia Ann Scheitrum

Mrs. Julia A.(Bergen) Scheitrum, age 82, of Brown Street Tamaqua, Pa., died Friday, October 9, 2009, at Hometown Nursing & Rehabilitation Ctr. in Tamaqua, Pa.

During the war years, Julia worked as a telephone operator in Pottsville, and then in Tamaqua. Upon the birth of her family, she settled into the role of homemaker.

She was a member of St. Jerome R.C.C. of Tamaqua, and was a 1948 graduate of St. Patricks High School of Pottsville.

Born in Pottsville, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Anna (Schneider) Bergen.

She is survived by her husband of sixty-one years, Paul F. Scheitrum, Sr.;

Ellen (Scheitrum) Cardoso wife of Tony of San Diego, Calif.
Gail (Scheitrum) Hoffman wife of Darrell of Greencastle, Pa.;

Five Sons,
Glenn P. Scheitrum and his wife Lynne of San Mateo, Calif.
Mark E. Scheitrum and his wife Margaret of San Jose, Calif.
Carl J. Scheitrum and his wife Lynn of Macungie, Pa.
Ward M. Scheitrum of Fresno, Calif.
Paul Scheitrum, Jr. of Tamaqua, Pa.;

Two Sisters,
Anna (Bergen) Schnabel of Upper Darby, Pa.
Ellen (Bergen) Wike of Schuylkill Haven, Pa.

One Brother,
Edward Bergen of Lebanon, Pa.

Sixteen grandchildren;

Preceded in death by a sister, Miss Mary Bergen; brother, Mr. James Bergen.

Arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa., where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, October 13, 2009 and from 9:45 AM to 10:30 AM Wednesday, October 14, 2009.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at Saint Jerome's R.C.C. at 11 o'clock AM Wednesday, October 14, 2009, Rev. James Bechtel officiating.

Interment will be at St. Jerome R.C.C. Cemetery in Tamaqua.
