Julia Hudasky, 100 years of age, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at The Evergreens retirement home in Moorestown, New Jersey.
Born Monday, January 9, 1922, in Nesquehoning, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Michael and Anna (Danek) Hudasky, Julia was also predeceased by sister, Mary Hiza, and brothers John Hudasky and Michael Hudasky.
Surviving are sister, Anna Stanalis, of Coaldale; nieces Elizabeth Panchura, Audrey Reese, and Susan Bydlon; and, great-nieces and -nephews Kevin Reese, Leslie Murtagh, Carly Panchura, Mark Panchura, and Meghan Bydlon Kinnear; and great great-nieces and -nephews Reese Murtagh, K.R. Murtagh and Chloe Kinnear.
A graduate of Lansford High School, Julia earned her licensed nurses registration (R.N.) at Philadelphia General Hospital in 1944. She also studied at the University of Pennsylvania and Rutgers University.
Julia worked initially as a pediatric nurse at Philadelphia General Hospital and then at Children’s Hospital in Philadelphia for four years. During the Korean War, she served our country at the Philadelphia chapter of The American Red Cross, where she was the Chief Nurse for 13 years. In 1963, Julia began a 21-year career in the corporate headquarters of the Campbell Soup Company in Camden, New Jersey. Beginning as an occupational health nurse, she eventually was promoted into the personnel department as the Manager of Employment Services, responsible for recruiting professional and non-professional staff until her retirement in 1984.
Julia was a member of St. John Slovak Lutheran Church of Lansford. Interment will be in St. John’s Slovak Lutheran cemetery, Summit Hill, Pennsylvania. A Memorial service will be held at a future date.
