Julia F. Gerber

Mrs. Julia F (Nester) Gerber, age 88, of Zion's Stone Church Rd., New Ringgold, died Friday, December 30, 2011, peacefully at home surrounded by her family. She was the widow of Carl B Gerber who passed away on 1-24-2004. Carl had been employed by Curtis J. Bailey Builders. Julia was a homemaker and farmer while raising her family and then went on to work for Laurel Nursing Home in Hamburg. She was a member of Zion's Stone Church of West Penn, where she was active in the Catering Society. Julia was also a member of the New Ringgold Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary. Born in New Ringgold, she was the daughter of the late Charles A. Nester and the late Ida M. (Greenawald) Nester. She is survived by her Two Daughters, Brenda K (Gerber) Christensen and her husband Jerry of St. Louis, MO and Judy A Gerber and her companion Robert O'Haugherty of Ft. Worth, TX; Two Sons, Carl G Gerber and his wife Audrey of Leesburg, VA and Greg J Gerber and his wife Barbara of Rochester, NH; One Brother,
Noyce P Nester of Topton, PA; Five Grandchildren; Six Great-Grandchildren. Preceded in death by her brothers, Raymond P W, John D L, Stanton, Newton C, Woodrow W, and Henry W Nester; sisters, Mary M Koch, E Irene Leiby, Mabel F Eckroth and Della B Shellhamer. Arrangements are being handled by Robert S. Nester Funeral Home, Inc., 2066 West Penn Pike, New Ringgold, Pa. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at 11 o'clock AM at Zion's Stone Church of West Penn, 45 Cemetery Rd., New Ringgold, Pa., Reverend Michael Frost to officiate. Call from 9:30 AM to time of service at the church. Interment at Zion's Stone Church Cemetery, New Ringgold. Memorials in her honor may be sent to the church.
