Joyce A. Hinkle, 61 years of age of Weatherly, child of Jesus Christ, devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend went home on Tuesday November 4, 2014.
Survived by her husband of thirty-three years, Ron D. Hinkle.
Her faith and trust in God was evident during her two year illness during which she touched many lives. She stated, “ the good from my illness was that I was able to introduce people to God whom I wouldn’t have met if I wasn’t sick.”
Joyce was born on December 2, 1952 in Lake Charles, LA to Betty (Gregory) Seigendall – Henry of Weatherly, and the late Captain Warren Seigendall U.S.A.F.
A 1970 graduate of Weatherly Area High School, she was a licensed nurse and was a career dental assistant. Until recently, she worked with Dr. John Timko and staff, Weatherly.
Joyce had the gift of music and a beautiful voice. She would spontaneously break out with an appropriate song to fit almost any occasion. She loved singing duets with her daughter Alyssa. A member of Zions Evangelical Lutheran Church of Weatherly, she served on the Congregation Council and sang in the choir.
As active as Joyce was in her faith, she was also active in her community, where she was both a member and leader of the Weatherly 4-H Club, Carbon county 4-H Development, Penn State Extension Board of Directors, President of the Weatherly Flower Club and Secretary of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 360, Weatherly.
Joyce's hobbies were gardening, knitting, cooking, and reading, especially cook books.
In addition to her husband Ronald Hinkle, she is survived by; daughter Alyssa Hinkle and son, Warren Hinkle, and her pride and joy, granddaughter Adia Russell, all of Weatherly; step-daughter, Stacie DeBalso of Hazleton .
Sister, Janet Sterzen and husband Richard, Martinez, GA; Brother, Thomas Seigendall and wife Theresa, Hazleton; Sister-in-law Jill Seigendall, Weatherly; Stepbrother John Henry and wife MaryLou, Beaver Meadows; Stepsisters, Virginia Houser and husband William, Weatherly and Judy Veron and husband Joseph of Coaldale and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Joyce was predeceased in death, stepfather Lt. Commander James E. Henry - USN, and her brother Carl Seigendall.
She will be remembered for her gentle strength, courage, gratitude and most importantly, her faith in Jesus Christ.

A Celebration of her life will be held Saturday November 8, 2014 at 11 o’clock A.M. from the Zions Evangelical Lutheran Church, 335 Third Street, Weatherly, PA 18255, Rev. Dawn Richie to officiate.
Friends will be received in church from 9:30 A.M. until time of services.
