Josephine Peters, age 66, formerly of Slatington, died Monday, June 30, 2014, at Weatherwood Nursing & Rehabilitation Ctr. in Weatherly.
She was a homemaker.
Josephine was a member of Bethany Wesleyan Church, Cherryville where she had been head of the Women's Prison Ministry.
She was secretary of Blue Mountain High Rise, Slatington and former Miss Amarillo, Texas.
Josephine enjoyed Bible Study and Arts & Crafts and she was a former race car driver in the Powder Puff Derby.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Bade and the late Beatrice (Patterson) Bade and foster child of Rubin and Esther Smoker.
She is survived by her
Two Daughters:
Jane Summers and Judy Summers and her companion Carl Johnson all of Tamaqua;
One Son:
Brandon Mickey of Amarillo, Texas;
Two Sisters:
Joan Longo wife of Dominic of Fairless Hills, PA and
Helena Rychener of Pittsburgh, PA;
One Brother:
James Bade and his wife Mary of Tannersville;
Two Grandchildren,
Justin Summers and Tyler Mickey.
Preceded in death by her son, Kenneth Todd Poole; brother, John E. Bade.
