Josephine D. Havrilko, 90 years of age of Lincoln Drive Hometown section of Tamaqua, Pennsylvania passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at Schuylkill Medical Center East, Pottsville, Pennsylvania.
Widow of the late Carl V. Havrilko who passed away on December 19, 1993, she is survived by her daughters, Vivian Havrilko of Union, NJ and Mrs. Carole Torney wife of John of Malvern, Pennsylvania; grand children, John Michael Torney, Christopher Torney and his wife Schuyler, and Melissa D'Agostino and her husband Michael; great grandchild, Henley Torney; many nieces and nephews also survive Josephine.
A 1943 graduate of Tamaqua High School, Josephine was an active member of St. John XXIII R.C.C. of Tamaqua having helped with the weekly Bingo, singing in the choir, and was a member of the C.W.E.A., and St. Vincent DePaul Society of the church.
A homemaker, Josephine had worked as a hostess for the former Leiby's restaurant, The Beacon Diner, and the former Scraffords Restaurant, as well as working at the former Tobias's Department Stores in Tamaqua, and Hazleton. Josephine enjoyed sewing and knitting.
Born Thursday, April 23, 1925 in Tamaqua she was the daughter of the late Frank Lore, and Helen (Zehner) Lore-Swaby. Also predeceased by a sister Mrs. Roberta Nesgoda.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 o'clock AM on Monday April 4, 2016 from St John XXIII R.C.C. located at 264 W Broad Street Tamaqua, Pennsylvania 18252.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 10:15 AM on Monday, April 4, 2016, at E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 655 East Broad Street, Tamaqua, Pennsylvania 18252.
Interment will be in Sky-View Memorial Park, Tamaqua, Pennsylvania.
