Joseph D Steigerwalt, age 90, of Lizard Creek Rd., Andreas, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at Geisinger Medical Ctr. of Wyoming Valley.
Joseph had worked as a truck driver for Herman Brothers, Omaha, NE., and farmed his families land in East Penn Township.
He was a Korean War Army veteran having served in occupied Germany.
Born in East Penn Township, son of the late Franklin E. Steigerwalt and the late Esther Suzanna (Kressley) Steigerwalt. Joseph was also predeceased by sisters, Mrs. Winifred Poncavage, Mrs. Marie Jesperon, and Mrs. Florence Steigerwalt.
He is survived by his nieces and nephew, Joanna Poncavage, of Sebastian, Fl., Susan Poncavage of Andreas, and Daniel Poncavage of Tamaqua, who served as his care-givers along with aides Eileen, and Roseann. Joseph also has many other nieces and nephews that survive him.
