Joseph C. Raggio

Joseph C. Raggio, husband, father and grandfather, 86 years of age died Thursday evening May 15, 2014 at St. Luke’s Hospice in Bethlehem.
Survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Dorothy A. (Deisenroth) Raggio, daughter, Dorothy M. Sassaman wife of Ronald of New Ringgold; brother, Paul Raggio of Lansdale; grandson, Hunter S. Sassaman.
Joseph was a 1945 Tamaqua High School graduate, and served in the United States Army. A member of St. Jerome R.C.C. of Tamaqua, Joseph sang in the choir and took the offertory.
He was a member of the Tamaqua Italian Club, East End Fire Company, Tamaqua Elks, and Legion.
A former Tamaqua councilman, Joseph had worked as an Assistant Administrator of Rest Haven Nursing Home in Schuylkill Haven, and worked for many years at the former Vogue Laundry of Tamaqua.
Joseph enjoyed long walks throughout Tamaqua, cooking and doting on his grandson.
Born in Tamaqua, he was the son of the late Frank, and Rose (Fucci) Raggio.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wed. May 21, 2014 at 11 o’clock A.M. from St. Jerome R.C.C. 266 West Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa. 18252.
Friends will be received from the funeral home on Wed. morning from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M.
Interment St. Jerome R.C.C. Cemetery , Tamaqua.
