Mr. Joseph A. Plasko, Sr., age 72, of Tamaqua, Pa., died Saturday, February 27, 2010, at St. Lukes Miners Memorial Medical Ctr. in Coaldale, Pa.
Joe served in the United States Airforce during the Korean War.
He had worked in the parts department of Mack Trucks for 24 years, retiring in 1990.
Joe, was a member of the East End Fire Co., , and was active in the Tamaqua Knee Hi football program when his children participated.
He was a member of St. Jerome R.C.C. of Tamaqua.
Born in Tuscarora, he was the son of the late John and Kathryn (Kotch) Plasko.
He is also survived by his wife of fifty years, Mrs. Patricia A. (Kubilus) Plasko, R.N.;
One Daughter,
Tricia M. (Plasko) Rocchino of Plymouth Meeting, Pa.
Four Sons,
Joseph M. Plasko, and his wife Donna of Tamaqua,
Steven W. Plasko, and his wife Nicola of Lancaster,
William J. Plasko of Florida,
Michael G. Plasko, and his wife Susan of New Orleans, La.;

Helen (Plasko) Seader of Tamaqua,
Mary (Plasko) Mercadante of Boothwyn,
Joan (Plasko) Kast wife of Adam of Tamaqua;
One Brother,
John "Jack" Plasko of Tamaqua;
Six grandchildren, Candace, Kara, Alex, George, Olivia, and Sara ;
Preceded in death by his sister, Mrs. Kathryn Yusella.
Arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa., Tamaqua, Pa., where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday, March 3, 2010.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Jerome R.C.C. at 11:00 o'clock AM Thursday, March 4, 2010, Rev. James Bechtel officiating.
Friends may call Thursday morning March 4, 2010 from 9:45 AM to 10:30 AM, at St. Jerome R.C.C.
