Joseph E. Motika, 86 years of age, beloved father, grandfather (Pa), brother, friend to many, of Pitt Street Tamaqua, Pennsylvania passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2021, at St. Luke's Miners Memorial in Coaldale, Pennsylvania.
Born Wednesday, March 27, 1935 in Tuscarora, he was the son of the late John Motika and Mary (Fabian) Motika-Vacula. Joe was also predeceased by; his beloved wife of 46 years, Juliana M. (Bobal) Motika on July 20, 2008; sisters, Anna Bisaha, Helen Motika, Elizabeth 'Bette' Hammond, Mary Motika, Margaret Risalek, Rose Motika and infant Bernadette; brothers John 'the Cat', William 'Rico', Bernard 'Butch', and Andrew Motika.
Surviving are daughters, Deborah Motika Brown wife of David of Tamaqua, Alison M. Henne wife of Mark of Coaldale, Theresa M. McGlinchey wife of the late Jimmy McGlinchey of Tamaqua; sister, Kathryn (Vacula) Patterson; grandchildren, Joseph M. Brown and his wife Brittany, Jessica L. Brown, Mark J. Henne, Jr., and his wife Liz, Brett A. Henne and his wife Juanita; great grandchild, Grace. Many nieces and nephews also survive Joe.
Joe served honorably and proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War. Joe retired from New Penn Trucking having worked there for over 31 years. He was a member of St. John XXIII R.C.C. of Tamaqua, Joe was an avid sports fan following the Eagles and Penn State football, the Mets baseball team. Joe loved his girls and his grandkids and enjoyed daily drives throughout town.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday December 4, 2021 at 10 o'clock A.M. from St John XXIII R.C.C. located at 301 Pine Broad Street Tamaqua, Pennsylvania 18252.
Friends may call on Saturday morning from the funeral home from 8:30 A.M. to 9:30 A.M.
Interment will be in Sky-View Memorial Park, Tamaqua, Pennsylvania.
