Joseph A. Meier, 68 years of age of Weatherly, Pennsylvania formerly of Homestead Florida, passed away on Friday, January 8, 2021, at Geisinger Medical Center Wyoming.
Born Monday, September 29, 1952 in Dunmore, Pennsylvania, the son of the late John R. Meier, Sr., and Teresa (Marusak) Meier.
Surviving are; his wife of 47 years, Sherry A. (Miller) Meier; son, Brian M. Meier of Weatherly; daughters, Jaime Diaz wife of Jose of Homestead, FL and Shannon Owens wife of James of Palm Bay , FL; brother, John R. Meier, Jr. and his wife Rosemary of Sugarloaf; grandchildren, Angela, Ciara, Racheal Diaz, Timothy, and Preston Owens.
Catholic by faith, Joe was a 1970 graduate of Marian Catholic High School. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and served honorably for 20 years retiring as a Tech. Upon retirement Joe worked in the airline industry, retiring from Atlas Air of Miami, Florida. He was a talented woodworker, and a Mr. Fix-it. A Nascar fan, Joe's favorite driver was Dale Ernhart. True to his Pennsylvania roots he was a Pittsburgh Steelers football fan.

A Private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday January 13, 2021 from Our Lady of Lourdes R.C.C. located at 318 Plane Street Weatherly, Pennsylvania 18255.
Interment with Military Honors to be bestowed, Union Cemetery Weatherly, Pennsylvania.
