Joseph Kodlick, age 96, formerly of Coaldale and Northampton, died Friday, December 9, 2011, at Valley Manor Nursing Ctr. in Coopersburg, Pa.
Joseph, worked as a Shovel and Bulldozer operator for the former #9 Colliery, Coaldale, Pa.
He was a gardener, and avid hunter, having been a lifetime member of both the Andreas Sporting, and West Penn Rod & Gun Clubs. He served as an officer of the West Penn Rod & Gun Club. Joseph also belonged to the Orioles Club of Lehighton.
Joseph was a member of St. John Slovak Lutheran Church of Lansford, where he had served as a church officer. He was a social member of the Tamaqua American Legion.
Born in New Ringgold, he was the son of the late John and Christina (Junas) Kodlick.
He is survived by his:
Daughter, Karen (Kodlick) Tereska-Drake and her husband Jeff of Whitehall;
One Sister,
Rose (Kodlick) Fekette of Orwigsburg;
Four grandchildren, Jason Tereska and his wife Melody, Todd Tereska & his wife Cindy, Kristin Barron, Jason Drake and his wife Jamie;
Eight great-grandchildren; Zachary, Shantel, Noah, Malachi, Caleb, Caleya, Brylee, and Landen;
Daughter-in-Law Gladys (Wheeler) Kodlick of Baltimore.
Preceded in death by his wife, Margaret (Prekopa) Kodlick on April 8, 2007; son, Ronald J. Kodlick, 2004; grandson, R. Tyler Kodlick; brothers, Paul, Martin, John, and Michael Kodlick; sisters, Mrs. Anna Jozefek, Mrs. Christina Valek, Mrs. Sue Kunkel.
Arrangements are being handled by the Holmes-Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa. 18252.
