Joseph A. "Chinney" Zelinsky , 72 years of age of Broad Street Tuscarora, passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2015 at home while in the care of his family.

Survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary Ann (Pedron) Zelinsky; daughters, Cheryl Zelinsky of Tuscarora, Jolene (Zelinsky) DiMarco wife of Frank of Tamaqua; sisters, Dorothy (Zelinsky) King wife of John of Coaldale, Anna Mae (Zelinsky) Kotch of Hagerstown, MD, and Patricia (Zelinsky) Alonge wife of Bernard of Brockton; grandchildren, Nicholas DiMarco, and Anna Zelinsky; many nieces and nephews also survive Chinney.

A 1960 graduate of Marian Catholic High School, Chinney served in the United States Marines. He worked construction and was a member of St. John XXIII Parish, SS. Peter & Paul R.C.C. of Tamaqua. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus Father Henry Baker Chapter, and had served as a Schuylkill Twp. Supervisor.

Chinney played Drums in the Chevelles in the late 1960's.

Born Friday, November 6, 1942 in Pottsville, he was the son of the late Joseph S., and Cecilia (Nowak) Zelinsky)

Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc. 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pennsylvania 18252.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Thursday May 14, 2015 from SS. Peter & Paul R.C.C. located at 301 Pine Street Tamaqua, Pennsylvania 18252.

A Gathering of Friends will take place on Wednesday evening May 13, 2015 at the funeral home from 6 to 8:00 P.M. and on Thursday, May 14, 2015 from 9-10 AM.

Interment with Military Honors will be in St. Bertha's Cemetery, Tuscarora, Pennsylvania.

Memorials and Mass Cards in his honor may be sent to St. John XXIII Parish 266 W. Broad St., Tamaqua, PA 18252.
