Mr. Joseph D. Camerini, age 85, of Orwigsburg Street Tamaqua, Pa., died Friday, April 16, 2010, having endured a courageous battle against cancer at home surrounded by his loving family.
Joe, was a 1943 St. Jerome High School graduate, and is a member of St. Jerome R.C.C.
Upon graduation, he entered the United States Army serving during WWII. Returning home Joe, worked 42 years for the Reading Railroad, now Conrail, retiring as a brakeman in 1985.
He was a life member of the South Ward Fire Company, and member of the Ontelaunee Rod & Gun Club. Joe, was and avid fly fisherman, and hunter.
Born in Tamaqua, he was the son of the late Dominick and Marina (Domenicci) Camerini.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mrs. June (Feathers) Camerini;
Two Daughters,
MaryAnn (Camerini) Deeble wife of Daniel of Tamaqua,
Patrice (Camerini) Kohan wife of Marlon of Palmerton;
One Son,
Joseph Camerini, and his wife Adelpina of Centreville, Md.;
Two Sisters,
Mrs. Irma (Camerini) Ginda.
Miss Mary Camerini, both of Tamaqua;
One Brother,
Francis Camerini and his wife Joan of Tamaqua;
Twelve grandchildren, Joshua, Matthew, Phill, Rebecca, Thomas, Tara, Drew, Zoimarie, Maria Angelica, Yzabella Ann, Raymond, and Edward;
Seventeen great-grandchildren;
Preceded in death by a brother, Bruno Camerini; sister, Ida (Camerini) Thomasco
Arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa., where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, April 20, 2010.
A Mass of Chrisitian Burial will be celebrated from St. Jerome R.C.C. at 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 21, 2010, Rev. James Bechtel officiating.
No morning call hours.
Interment with Military honors, will be at St. Jerome R.C.C. Cemetery in Tamaqua.
