Jonathan '"Junny": J. Valentine

Mr. Jonathan "Junny" James Valentine, age 88, of 430 East Bertsch Street Lansford, Pa., died Sunday, August 16, 2009, at St. Lukes Miners Memorial Medical Ctr. in Coaldale.

Junny, retired from the dye department of the former J.E. Morgan Knitting Mills of Hometown.

A WWII Army veteran, Junny was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a life member of the South Ward Fire Company of Tamaqua, and member of the First Congregational Church of Coaldale, Pa.

Born in Tamaqua, he was the son of the late Jonathan and Edna (Jones) Valentine.

He is survived by his wife Eva E. (Kropp) Valentine;

Two Daughters,
Martha (Valentine)Rossing and her Husband Phil,
Carol (Valentine) Outhouse wife of Purdy, both of Colorado;

One Son,
Jonathan J. Valentine and his wife Peggy of Tamaqua, Pa.;

Many grandchildren, and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews;

Brother, Francis Valentine of Tamaqua.

Preceded in death by his brother William Valentine; sister, Mrs. Mary Waidell.

Private arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa.
