John J. Weiner

John J. Weiner, father, and grandfather age 85, of Van Gelder Street Tamaqua, died Saturday, December 8, 2012, at Heritage Hills in Weatherly, surrounded by his loving family.

Widower of Margaret M. (Kupetz) Weiner, who died on March 27, 2000.

John attended Cass Twp. schools, leaving to work in the mines, to help support his family.

Enlisting in the United States Navy, he served during WWII. Upon his return home, John worked at the Birdsboro Foundry until retirement, and then to keep busy held various local jobs.
He was an avid reader, gardener, and animal lover. John enjoyed
wood working.

Born in Forestville, he was the son of the late Michael and Susan (Povlick) Weiner-Husowitz.

He is survived by his,

Mary Ann (Weiner) Schmerfeld wife of David of Barnesville,
Susan Marie (Weiner) Truskey wife of Bob of Tamaqua,
Peggy (Weiner) Heckman wife of Keith of Nesquehoning,
Karen (Weiner) Wasserleben wife of Randy of Tamaqua;

Three Sisters,
Helen Shepta wife of Andy of Philadelphia,
Kathy Wagner wife of Arlan of Minersville,
Sonya Bosack wife of Edward of Minersville;

Two Brothers,
Paul Husowitz of Bethlehem,
Joseph Husowitz of Pottsville;

Eight grandchildren;

Special friend, Carol Nagle.

Preceded in death by his son, John Glenn Weiner, on July 29, 2006.

Arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa., where the family will receive friends from 8:45 AM to 9:30 AM Thursday, December 13, 2012.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Jerome R.C.C. at 10:00 AM Thursday, December 13, 2012.

Interment with Military honors will be at St. Bertha's R.C.C. Cemtery of Tuscarora.
