John J. Trojan

John J Trojan, 98, went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 7, 2022, in the Lehigh Valley Hospital Hospice Care, Allentown with his wife by his side.

John had a 50 year banking career at Citizens National Bank, Lansford, and retired as President and CEO in 1991. He continued to serve as a bank director for several more years.

Born in Lansford on April 30, 1924, John was the son of the late John and Anna (Gaydos) Trojan. He was also predeceased by; sister, Agnes Melnick; brothers, Chester J., Walter, and Leonard "Cobby" Trojan.

Surviving in addition to his widow, Martha A. (Matrician) Rex; are daughters Janice Lessman and her husband Perry Funk, Gwyneth Trojan-Johnson and her husband Donald Johnson, Lois Trojan and her husband Marc Chupka and stepdaughter Lisa Castagna. He had 7 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. There are also nieces and nephews.

More than anything, John loved to travel and travel indeed he did, having visited 6 continents covering many countries. He enjoyed Broadway shows and concerts. Always the consummate banker, he fervently read financial news and followed the stock market until his eyesight no longer allowed.

A 1943 graduate of the former Lansford High school, John served honorably in the United States Army during WWII. John was a member of St. Joseph's R.C.C. of the Panther Valley. John was extremely proud of his Polish Heritage.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday November 14, 2022 from St. Joseph's R.C.C. of the Panther Valley 462 West Ludlow Street Summit Hill, Pennsylvania 18250.

Interment took place in Sky View Memorial Park, Tamaqua, Pennsylvania.
