Mr. John R. Stapleton, age 84, of East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa., died Thursday, February 10, 2011, at home, in the care of his family.
John, was employed by the former Bundy Tubing, Tamaqua and retired from Stanley-Vidmar of Allentown.
A 1944 graduate of the former St. Jerome High School, Tamaqua, he was a member of the East End Fire Co..
John served in the U.S.M.C., during WWII, serving in the Pacific Theater of Operations stationed in Okinawa, and China.
Born in Tamaqua, he was the son of the late Thomas John and Helen (Spaide) Stapleton.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Clara (Cook) Stapleton;
One son,
John T Stapleton of Tamaqua;
Preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Stapleton.
Arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa.
Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Thursday February 17, 2011 at 1 o'clock P.M. from SS. Peter & Paul R.C.C., 307 Pine Street Tamaqua, Pa. 18252, Rev. William Linkchorst officiating.
Interment at Sky View Memorial Park, Tamaqua.
