John J. "Rack" Racko
June 26, 1936 — May 29, 2017
John J. "Rack" Racko, devoted husband, loving father, adoring grandfather, 80 years of age, of East Abbott Street, Lansford, Pennsylvania passed away peacefully on Monday, May 29, 2017, at home while in the care of his family.
Survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Anna Louise (Hydock) Racko; daughters, Michelle Bartek of Hazleton, and Mrs. Johnna McHugh wife of Bruce of Tamaqua; grand children, Ashley, Jonathan, Alyssa, and Nathan; One great grand child who was the light of his life, Madison.
A 1954 graduate of the former Lansford High School, John retired from Monumental Life Insurance Company, and had previously worked at the former Atlas Powder Company of Reynolds. John served honorably in the United States Air Force. He maintained membership in the Jim Thorpe American Legion, was a lifetime member and past president of the American Fire Co. #1 of Lansford and former president of the Lansford Ambulance Association.
Rack was an avid P.S.U. football fan.
Born Friday, June 26, 1936 in Coaldale, Pennsylvania son of the late John J. Racko, Sr., and Dorothy (Pazo) Racko.
A graveside Memorial Service will be held with Military Honors on Monday June 26, 2017 at Ft. Indiantown Gap. National Cemetery in Annville, Pennsylvania.
