John Melnick

Mr. John Melnick, age 89, of East Elm Street Tamaqua, Pa., died Wednesday, January 6, 2010, at home.

John was employed by IMC Chemical, formerly Trojan Chemical of Catasaqua, and was a member of St. John U.C.C. of Tamaqua.

Born in Tamaqua, he was the son of the late Demetrius and the late Anna (Ferki) Melnick.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Katherine M. (Jones) Melnick;

One Daughter,
Deborah J. (Melnick) Wertz and her husband Rodney of Tamaqua;

One Son,
Stephen M. Melnick and his wife Edna of Tamaqua;

Brothers,
Frank Melnick, and Stephen Melnick and his wife Catherine both of Tamaqua;

Two grandchildren
Five great-grandchildren;

Preceded in death by his brothers, Michael, and George Melnick; sisters, Mrs. Helen Weiley, and Mrs. Mary Lazalere.

Arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa., where the family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM Saturday, January 9, 2010.

Funeral service will be at E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc. at 3:30 PM Saturday, January 9, 2010, Rev. Kevin Duffy-Guy officiating.

Private interment.
