John P. Mcgee, Sr.

John P. McGee, Sr., 83 of West Main Street Weatherly, died Monday January 23, 2012 at the Hazleton General Hospital Hazleton, Pa.
Born in McAdoo, the son of the late William and Priscilla (Burns) McGee.
John was a 1945 McAdoo High School graduate, and entered the United States Army serving in WWII, and the Korean War. John owned and operated McGee’s Auto Electric, an automotive repair business in Hazleton for 29 years.
A member of Our Lady of Lourdes R.C.C. of Weatherly, John was also a member of the Weatherly Legion, and American Fire Company #1 of Weatherly.
An H.O. model train enthusiast, John owned and managed his own stock car team, racing at Evergreen race way.
He loved his family and was always available to join them no matter where their travels would take him.
John is survived by his daughter, Linda (McGee) Lesko of Weatherly;
Son, John P. McGee, Jr. and his wife Grace of Weatherly;
Ten grandchildren who affectionetly called him Poppy, John, Kyle, Lauren, Jared, Zachary, Jeffrey, Shannon, Shay, Kelly, and Jennifer;
Four great grandchildren, Isabella, Corbin, Taylor, and Derek;
Nieces, and nephews.
Preceded in death by his wife, Shirley M. (Sharp) McGee; son, Timothy T. McGee; brother, William McGee; sister, Mary "Molly" Mears; son-in-law, John Lesko.
Philip J. Jeffries Funeral Home 211 Second Street Weatherly, Pa. 18255, Philip J. Jeffries F.D. is in charge of arrangements.
Friends may call Wednesday evening January 25, 2012 from 5 to 8:00 PM at the Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, January 26 at 12 o’clock noon from Our Lady of Lourdes R.C.C. 318 Plane Street Weatherly, Pa. Rev. Floyd Caesar to officiate. No morning calling hours.
Military honors will be presented at the end of Mass.
Private committal at St. Patrick’s R.C.C. Cemetery, McAdoo.
Mass cards or memorials in his name to Our Lady of Lourdes R.C.C., or in care of the Weatherly Borough, Wilbur Street Weatherly, Pa. 18255 for the Train Works, or Weatherly Animal Shelter.
