John F. Mccarroll

Mr. John F. McCarroll, age 81, of Penn Street Tamaqua, Pa., died Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at St. Lukes Miners Memorial Medical Ctr. in Coaldale, Pa.

Devoted to his family, John graduated from the former St. Joseph's High School of Summit Hill, Pa, class of 1944. Upon graduation he entered the United States Army serving in WWII.

John retired from the Borough of Tamaqua were he worked as a Mechanic, and was a member of the South Ward Fire Company.

Born in Summit Hill, he was the son of the late Patrick and Jennie (Breslin) McCarroll.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mrs. Rose Marie (Tracy) McCarroll;

Mrs. Sharon R. (McCarroll) Goho of Tamaqua, Pa.
Mrs. Rose Marie (McCarroll) Warner wife of Paul of Andreas, Pa.
Mrs. Linda D. McCarroll of Tamaqua, Pa.

Mr. Jerome C. McCarroll and his wife Adele of Tamaqua, Pa.
Mr. Clem J. McCarroll and his wife Pam of Tamaqua, Pa.

Mr. Frank J. McCarroll and his wife Stephanie of Tamaqua, Pa.
Mr. Jim D. McCarroll and his wife Sarah of Swift Water, Pa.

Preceded in death by his son John F. McCarroll, Jr.; brother Mr. Eugene McCarroll; sister's Mrs. Grace Houser, Mrs. Cecilila Kastrava, Miss Helen McCarroll, and Mrs. Jane Conahan

Arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa., where the family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM Friday, April 4, 2008 and from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM Saturday, April 5, 2008.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Jerome R.C.C. at 10:00 AM Saturday, April 5, 2008 , Rev. James Bechtel officiating.

Interment will be at St. Jerome R.C.C. Cemetery in Tamaqua, Pa.
