John J. Kanyak, Jr.

John J. Kanyak. Jr. 89 of Weatherly, passed away February 10, 2025, in Forest Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was the husband of Janice N. (Eroh) Kanyak, to whom he married on October 3, 1970. 

Born July 27, 1935, in Foster Township, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Husovich) Kaynak, Sr.

He was a graduate of Foster Township High School. 

John was employed by A&P as a clerk and retired from Weatherly school district as a custodian.

He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. 

John was a member of St. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church. He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fly fisherman, who tied his own fly's. 

He is survived by his wife Janice of 54 years and a brother Stephen Kanyak of St. Johns.

He was preceded in death in his sister, Mary Gombeda.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
