John P. Jone

Mr. John P. Jones, age 81, of North Lehigh Street Tamaqua, Pa., died Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at St. Lukes Hospital Bethlehem, in Bethlehem, Pa.

John attended Tamaqua School system, and is a member of the First United Methodist Church of Tamaqua, Pa.

John retired from the former Reading Railroad and Conrail were he worked in their officies for over 44 years.

He was a member of the Citizens Fire Co. of Tamaqua, Pa.

Born in Coaldale, Pa., he was the son of the late Paul and Catherine (Walters) Jones.

Survived by his wife of 59 years, Mrs. Elizabeth "Betty" M. (Lawson) Jones;

One Daughter,
Mrs. Betty Jane (Jones) Mount of Philadelphia, Pa.

Two Sons,
Mr. John P. Jones, Jr. and his wife Nancy of New Ringgold, Pa.
Mr. William D. Jones and his wife Ann of Tamaqua, Pa.

One Sister,
Mrs. Catherine Derr of Tamaqua, Pa.

Two Brothers,
Mr. Richard Jones and his wife Kathleen of Tamaqua, Pa.
Mr. William Jones and his wife Cecile of Tamaqua, Pa.

Eight grandchildren
Eight great-grandchildren

Arrangements are being handled by E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc., 655 East Broad Street Tamaqua, Pa., where the family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM Friday, May 9, 2008 and from 10:15 AM to 11:00 AM Saturday, May 10, 2008.

Funeral service will be at E. Franklin Griffiths Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 10, 2008, Rev. Rodney Miller officiating.

Interment Private at the convenience of the family.
